During 2010 there will be a rolling programme of Cafe scientifique/philosophique evenings at various venues across the city building up to the 2011 festival.

Arising from collaboration with GV Art in London, here are details of a talk and a coming exhibition at GV Art, 49 Chiltern Street, London W1U 6LY

Thursday 12 August, 7pm

Artist Andrew Carnie and scientist Richard Wingate discuss the work on display at GV Art and how Carnie’s artistic practice collides with Wingate’s scientific research. The discussion is free but booking is essential and begins at 7pm in the gallery. Refreshments are included.

Andrew's current exhibition, Dendritic Forms, continues until Friday 10 September.

Thursday 16 September

This is the opening date for a solo exhibition by Katharine Dowson, who will take us on a psychological journey by constructing familiar forms that evoke childhood memories, using unexpected materials that alter their meaning or significance. Relics of the Mind is based on the concepts of holding on and letting go.
